Where is YOUR happiness??
Hi Fellow Fusioners,
I wanted to remind you of what we talked about last Friday, about the gift or the giver and which is more important in your life.
The question I asked was, “where is your happiness”? Is it in the things you have or in the things your friends posses? God gave you every thing that you have and He got those things specifically for YOU.
Here is the skit to remind you just that….
So stay focused on God and remember to enjoy what God has given you!
…Good or Gross…
That was the question we asked. The students were brave and took their chances on food that could have been good or it could have been gross. Some made out lucky with some lemon drops and beef jerky. But some…weren’t ask lucky and had to have clam juice and baby food. Good news though, they are still alive!
Thanks for playing!
God Pays Attention
I have this really bad habit with my kids. I can listen to them…I can listen to them for a long time…but I might not really be paying attention. Sometimes it is because of a good reason such as something important is on my mind, but frequently it is because I can be more selfish than I like.
You can tell the difference between when someone is listening and someone is paying attention, can’t you? You can tell when you have someone’s undivided attention and when they are distracted or disinterested, right? I want to tell you this about Jesus….he pays attention to you.
There is this great story in the Bible found in Luke Chapter 8. Jesus is walking through this packed crowd. His disciples are in a hurry to get through because they are going to the house of a ruler…a ruler who has just lost his daughter. He is on his way to a very important meeting. And as he is walking through the crowd a woman who had been suffering and sick for 12 years thought, if I just touch this Jesus guy, maybe I will be healed. So as Jesus is getting bounced around this busy crowd she manages to get up and touch the fringe of his robe, hoping and believing that Jesus would heal her.
After being touched Jesus says, “Somebody touched me.”
Peter says, “Duh Jesus, of course somebody touched you. We are making our way through this busy crowd…a bunch of people touched you.” Then Jesus in effect says this….”Somebody touched me differently.”
Jesus noticed…in the midst of his busy schedule, in the midst of an important mission of healing, in the midst of a large bustling crowd, Jesus noticed this woman. People of God, understand this….Jesus notices!
Jesus notices you! Jesus pays attention to you. And the Bible has a few things to say about the way you are noticed.
He notices when you are hurting
8 You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book. (Psalm 56:8, NLT)
He notices you in a way no one else does
1 O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
He notices you and beams with delight
24 ” ‘ “The LORD bless you
and keep you;
25 the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;
26 the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.” ‘ (Numbers 6, NIV)
M. Scott Peck said this, “The principle form of the work of love is attention. When we love another we give him/her our attention; we attend to that person’s growth.”
“Operetta de Droperatta”
Since baseball is only a few days away, I chose the “Operetta de Droperatta” for our YouTube video of the week.
Neither Rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail….
…shall keep us from having FRIDAY FUSION.
Tonight, March 27th, we will have Friday Fusion as scheduled. But, due to the roads icing up, we will end at 9pm. So Fusion is from 7-9pm tonight.
See ya there!
Another Song on Jeff’s Ipod
A while back we did a series, “What’s on Jeff’s Ipod.” This was one I almost picked. Enjoy.
